On this page we collect the most frequently asked questions from players regarding their interpretations of the rules and the most correct and detailed procedures for applying them. The answers should be considered official additions to the rulebook included in the package.

  1. When on my turn I create a new District and want to play two Works cards, do they have to be the same color? No, the Works can be of any type (Artistic, Military, Humanistic, or Urbanistic) and any color (black, red, or green), chosen according to your personal strategy.
  2. In general, do Districts have to have only Works of the same color, or can they have mixed colors? There are no color restrictions in the composition of Works in Districts.
  3. On your turn, can you create only one new District, or two? As indicated in the rules on page 7, point 2 of the How to Play section, if you play two Works in a turn, they both go to form the same new District you are creating.
  4. On my turn I create a new District, in addition to others I already had. Can I add the second Work to an already existing District or only to the one just created? Only to the new one you are creating in the current turn (see also the answer to question 3).
  5. At the beginning of my turn, can I take the Personality Ottaviano Ubaldini della Carda or Federico da Montefeltro? Yes, if available and following the normal rules, that is, discarding a card from your hand and choosing any Personality from the Duke's Court or from an opponent who has not yet played in this round (page 7). In particular, if the card shows Ottaviano Ubaldini della Carda, this will be the Personality held, otherwise if it shows Federico da Montefeltro, the Duke will be the Personality held.
  6. On my turn I hold Ottaviano Ubaldini della Carda and play as my first card from my hand the Event Thwarted Conspiracy; can I then play the Event Military Conduct? Yes: when Thwarted Conspiracy is played, the Personality Ottaviano Ubaldini della Carda is flipped, revealing Federico da Montefeltro, who thus becomes the "new" Personality held. Thanks to Federico da Montefeltro, I can play any Event and if as the second card I play Military Conduct, the Personality is flipped to reveal once again Ottaviano Ubaldini della Carda (page 4).
